Anybody know how close we are with the closet competitor?

First I want to thank Al -Bird for a very honest and sporting opinion the situation and making this a very fair event, Second I want to congratulate Stoner for a awesome trophy it is indeed a brute of a gobbler

Here is the plan guys on the scores -and this is after consulting a secret panel of independent judges that are not in the contest-

We are going to leave the scores as-is for now and retire this issue temporally , at least until the contest is almost over, the reasons being...

1) not saying it could go that way , the newer pictures do help a bit - but it looks like even if the one beard was deducted from VD that team will still be in 1st place? even  if we don't re evaluate the other close team -

3) the lead of VD could be made even greater if we go in and fairly re score several of the shaky pictures including the team I am on , there are some real funky pictures in some of the teams , no base to tip pictures and they will fall right down the rankings

At the risk of getting in trouble for posting in another teams thread I just wanted to say that the vast majority would just say....WOW. Great bird Stoner. I was reviewing team scores and saw this dandy.

Even if our team was battling for first (whihc we're not lol) I would gladly tip my cap and take second if a bird of that caliber was the one which knocked us off. heck even if you think it is one beard it deserves to get an extra bonus for being the thickest, crazy full, paintbrush beard ever!

Well done Stoner!!!!! You deserve every point for that big bugger.

I also want to know when the Voodoo Hunter "How to feild score Turkey Seminar" runs.  Man, you guys have some dandy's down. If it's a hanging beard and full fan it gets the face wash with #6 from me. I only determine the score after I'm kneeling over it.

Barry, don't let the drama keep you out of the contest. What is going on is really not a big deal. There were some questions as to the validity of a double beard and I think that has been answered. We were planning on just calling it a single beard to keep from having any additional drama but for now all is well. It appears next year we will be removing multibeards from the contest and only counting the longest beard. That will remove any questions. You have had a great year according to the birds I have seen you post. Congrats on a great year! Hope to see you in the contest again. It is fun and a good way to meet new people!

Congrats on a dandy bird Stoner. Congrats to you boys, you've taken down some dandy birds with a 70+ bird average, Nuttin wrong with that.

I could see all this bickering if there was money or a hunting trip or some thing that really mattered. This contest was for fun, bragging rights. This is all about showing off your bird, sharing your hunts with other hunters and carrying on the tradition of hunting turkeys. Our team caption said he didn't have time to baby sit a bunch grown men. I agree. Being a new person in the contest this year I didn't take as good of pics as i should have, and will try to do a better job next year.  Congrats to ever the winner is this year. And if it's Voo Doo hunters Congrats to them  they took some really nice birds. It'll just make me hunt a little harder next year!

I applaud Voodoo hunters on their willingness to be fair.  I have not seen any of the birds in question, but find it refreshing that some are willing to lower their score because they do not want to jepordize their word.  Way to go fellas!  I am rooting Team Spur Collectors first, but Team Voodoo is a very close second!
