Cuban raft

Over the past 30 + years we have found plenty of cuban rafts,innertubes and makeshift boats floating in the gulfstream,this has to be the nicest.The refugees had already been rescued by USCG.Sure wished I had towed it in for some yard art.

We found it 15 miles from shore,it was making 4 knots headed due south.

If I got stranded on an Island with Maryanne and Ginger I wouldn't be to quick to show off my boat building skills either.

No fishing rod but it was well provisioned.It would have made a great bar,cut the side and deck and hinge it so you could stand inside.There are often big schools of mahi around rafts but not this time.My guess whoever initially found them and notified CG also caught the fish.Thats my mate on it,should have seen him when we pulled away and left him on it.

About 30 years ago I witnesed s boat that was towed in to the Port Everglades that had about 50 Haitians in it -- I just couldn't get over how desperate people had to be to get in a death trap like that with next to no food and spend a few weeks in it

Those rafts are collectable I hear , years ago I remember there being a art gallery having them on display
