I just picked up a MAD MD-1003 choke for my 870.

The constriction is .655 and for "lead only".  From reading posts it appears the choke may have been made by Indian Creek and ok for HTL loads.

Am I missing anything, or does that sum it up?

As I recall, that's one of the older MAD chokes that was rated for lead shot only. I'm not sure who was manufacturing those chokes at that time. I think they went through several different companies over time.

I had several of them years ago for different guns but have not shot one in many years.

Thanks,
Clark

Thanks For the info Clark.  I'll be interested to see what it does.

I have one for my 11-87 it shoots the old clear hulled hevis at 200 in a ten @40. I bought one on line two years ago for $15.00 and gave it to the father in-law. He gets great results out of his 870 shooting 3.5 Hevi #6. Saw him kill a longbeard in Missouri this spring at a miss judged 49 yds.
