When it comes to calls such as a Haint, is there a difference between the wooden and plastic? Does the material affect the sound quality or ease of use? Thanks

I would think that wood will have a more natural tone over plastic. JMO

I have the poly one and love it.I have only had it for 3 days but I got it going pretty good.

I would rather have the wood but after seening how much saliva gets in the call it seems like maybe that would hurt the wood over time??

Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure if the wood was worth the extra money.

Anyone else? All these call makers, someone has to have some knowledge about call material. Thanks

I have the poly and was thinking the same thing.

I have both the walnut and the poly.  I prefer the tone of the walnut call far beyond the poly.   The walnut call has a more open, fuller tone.

That said, one of the DND guys ran a poly call over the phone for me...  it sounded great.  It may be more the user than the call...  :icon_thumright:

Thanks for the input,I may have to pick up a wood one and try it as well.

Thanks for all of your input. I ended up ordering the poly version. From the video's I watched I don't think it sounds quite as good but i had concerns about the durability of wood.  I hunt in the rain so I went for the safe bet, the poly.
