What products are you gentlemen using to deter ticks this season. Here in Pa they have become a real problem.

I permanon my clothes and boots. , will usually keep most of them as well as chiggers and mosquitoes away. You do need to hang clothes to apply and let dry prior to wearing, they say it will even work after one washing.

Sawyers works well.

I usually use my own permethrin mix, but it contains petroleum distillates, so it has to air dry for a couple days to get rid of the smell.  It rained (or snowed) too much before the season to leave my clothes outside, so this year I just bought a couple cans of Repel Permanone.  I will use that or Sawyers, whichever I can find cheaper.

Permethrin is what I use.  Here in Eastern NC, we hunt in Pine plantations that are home to numerous ticks and Permethrin does a great job.  There is a thread in Turkey Hunting Tips that will get you started.  10% Permethrin can be found at most Farm Supply stores or ordered right off the internet.  Dilute to about .5%, with water, in a spray bottle and spray your clothes down the night before the hunt and your good to go.

Sounds crazy but I use a product made by Avon called " skin-so-soft "; an ol' timer in my area taught me that years ago and it works like you wouldn't believe; works on ticks, mosquitoes, flies, and several other things; just find a Avon sales person and try it before you judge; it will truly amaze you.
God has always provided the tree, but you never read where he built the nest.

Duranon...Absolutely Duranon! It's a Permethrin based product and it works GREAT! I've been using it for maybe 5 years and have yet to have a tick or chigger bite while using it...As others have said Sawyers is also good...I'm not sure about the Sawyers (although I'd guess it's the same) but I know the Duranon last six weeks and six launderings...You'll be glad you used this stuff. No worries about those little blood sucking buggers again!

That stuff works great for lots of stuff. It'll take the grease from the top of your fridge like nobodies business and it's a great insect repellant...BUT, the smell!!! Oh Lord I hate the smell!
If that doesn't bother you, I would imagine it's better for you than the powerful chemicals that we're using...
