One of my club members calls me a couple of mornings ago, the first comment out of his mouth, "I am about to p*ss you off. I just passed our neighbor (name withheld) with a full pallet of corn."The neighbor proceeds to brag about how many birdes they have killed and how fat and heavy they are. I had thought that our lack of birds and the number of shots comming off the 500 acres was a little strange. Anyway, fast forward to a call to the loacal game warden and hopefully this will be resolved via his help. He sounded like he was itching to pull the pen out.
Guys, I just want a fair and level playing field and shooting birds over a corn feeder? Really where is the sport in that?
I was just wondering how yall would have handled this one

I have the local game warden on speed dial for just these occasions.

Shooting game over corn is not hunting in my book, whether it legal where you live or not. They have recently legalized supplemental feeding here in Alabama. Basically making it legal to feed and hunt as long as you are not within 100 yards or direct line of sight of the bait. It is legal only on private land so private land owners and clubs will be able to lure all the game to their land, thus giving them an unfair advantage over public land owners. Baiting also concentrates game and that concentrates predators so these people will kill lots of turkeys for a little while until the coyotes and raccoons that hang out by the feeders eat all the baby turkeys and fawns. I have read studies that say that game populations actually decrease in areas where baiting is legal.

don't get me started about baiting and the lazy people that do it
it's not the harvest,it's the chase

I would have tried to handle it the same as you. You did the right thing.
