Got a package in the mail this morning, and its been keeping me busy. I want to give a big thank you to Callmakerman for sending me 4 different strikers!!

I'm amazed at the difference in the sound quality of these 4 vs the carbon striker that came with the Li'l Deuce slate call. First off (And yes I admit I'm a novice) I bought the slate call about two weeks ago but the difference between the two materials is if I can sum it up best...Tonal quality!

The 4 wood strikers all have when compared to the carbon, "soul" They seem to make the slate come alive and at least for me are consistent in there sound quality.

As of now my favorite's of the 4 would have to be the Purple Heart or Hickory. They seem to have the ability to be loud & aggressive, and of a higher pitch, but can also get soft and sweet.

The Sage is a bit mellower and the Dymondwood even more so.
I have much to learn, and I will probably make some errors but Callmakerman sure helped steer me in the right direction! What a great guy, don't want to break any rules but do you have a website so I and others can browse to see whats available? Or just send me a PM if they don't allow you to post it here.

Finally... I'm thinking I'd be better off bringing several strikers with me when I hunt. Good idea or should I just concentrate on one?

Don glad to hear that they will work for you as it has allready been said take them all with you. I carry at least 4 strikers and some times more. You never know what the birds want to hear but one things for sure, if you don't have them then you can't change up the sound of your calling.

Thanks guys for the advice, don't know how any Tom could ignore several, or the sound of what he thinks are a small group of hot hens. That's what those strikers you sent will allow me too do. Can't say enough about a guy whose decent enough to do what Callmakerman did, there aren't many like you around!! Thanks
