My 20ga and a Cherokee National Forest bird

I went to TN to do some hunting Sunday morning. But Friday I had a new box of #7 Nitro Company shells show up. I tried them in with my IC 555 and it shot better than anything else I've tried. I shot it Saturday evening and got 179 pellets in a 10" at 40 yards.

So Sunday morning me and my buddy Chance leave early enough to stop at the truck stop in Glade Springs to get us some breakfast. And after watching the 3 Stooges  and  eating off we went. After about a mile hike we were getting right about where we needed to be to listen and we heard a gobble. We slip to about 100 yards of him and set up. After gobbling over 100 times I hear a hen going to him so I decide fire things up. I started of with a fly down and the hen started cutting me off and he got more fired up. So I started cutting and excited yelps it worked the hen got curios enough to come on in with him in tow. I shot him at 28 yards right before he could turn and get to and unsure sight path. After skinning his neck and head out to see the damage I was very impressed. The bird weighed 21.5 lbs, 10.25" beard and 7/8" blunt spurs.

But as for me and my family, we will serve the LORD.  Joshua 24:15
