My son-in-law just got a Rem. 887 and we tried a Mad .665 shooting Win. lead 5's. Our patterns weren't very good at all. Any ideas?

In my experience chokes with tighter exit diameters, depending upon the internals, do much better in Rem-Choke threaded guns with lead shot.

There can be other factors of course and I'd recommend that you "deep clean" the bore and give that choke another chance after that. That may be all it takes and if it is, you've saved some money.

Thanks,
