I use whatever choke gives me 90 to 100 pellets max in 10" circle @ 40 yds. Nothing worse for me than a shotgun that shoots to tight. I hear alot of guys on here talking about nearly 200 pellets in 10" @ 40yds, and for me that is way to tight. Just got rid of a gun yesterday that if a turkey was closer than 40yds, there was a real good chance I would miss him. I have defenitely taken a different approach for the last few years on tight shooting guns. But that is my preference in the areas I hunt. Could be different if I wasn't in the mountains where most of the time I can have a gobbler within 15yds if I play my cards right. Just my 2 cents worth.

I patterned a 1.125 Ounce load of #6 Lead through a Flush .040 XFull choke at 40 Yards, and it could have killed a Turkey.  It surprised me a little.

We patterned a buddy's NEF 20 with a fixed Mod choke and HWT 6's and it will kill q turkey at 35.

Ive got a little Ithaca 20 gauge auto with a fixed modified choke that i'm gonna hunt with some this year. I am getting in the 130's at 40 yards and even shot it at 50 yards and put 70 in a 10 inch circle....These are with the federal heavyweights.

I hunt with my Remington 1100 Magnum a few times each year,it's got a 30" .690 fixed full choked barrel that will throw some ungodly lead patterns
I have a .710 factory choke tube for my 835 that really loves 3.5" 2-1/4 oz lead 5's and 6's
I also have a Charles Daly 20ga pump that I run Federal FCW lead shell through the factory full choke and get some turkey killing patterns
it's not the harvest,it's the chase

I shoot a Fixed Full out of my New England 12ga.3.5 with fed. HW 7's,get around 130 in a 10 in. at 40, it has killed a lot of turkey.
Hunt every day as if it were your last.

The Federal Turkey Thug #6's shot pretty dang well out of a .040 XFull choke (.690) in my 870.

Over 20" of pretty even coverage at 40 Yards, but the core of the pattern wasn't any more dense than the rest of it.

Inside 40 Yards, it would get it done.  Especially inside 35 Yards; and have a big, forgiving pattern as well.

Here is a picture of  my  20 ga  shooting  fed  HW  #7   through my  factory full choke

(benelli says  the  factory  full is  590)  this  is  actually  tighter  than Briley's Xfull  choke

but I  like  it ...

I have a flush full choke in my daughters SA-08 youth 20 gauge. It's a 30 yard gun with Fed 2.75" HW 7s. Averages around 80-100 in 10" but you could slide a 10" ring anywhere inside a 20" circle and the count would be the same. She's only 7 years old and I want her to have a large margin for error when the moment of truth arrives.
