Ok, so I have been a Danner Pronghorn guy for years. I went to go buy a new pair and they are hard to find. Plus I hear they were outsourcing them to China and they aren't as good as they used to be. So i rolled the dice on these. I had some bad experiences in the past with Rocky, but so far these seem amazing! They zip on and off SOOOO easily. Plus, they are extremely light! I'm telling you you can't hardly feel them on at all. 23 ounces per boot.

Goodluck with yours, both mine and my brothers fell apart in less than a season of deer hunting.

I understand that some folks, including me, have had bad luck with Rocky. I would have been happy to give my business to Danner, but it appears that they are not what they used to be, and I am having a hard time finding them. These look a lot better than the older versions, and I gotta tell you I have never felt any boot this light, let alone a snake boot! They look great, but we will see if they last great. I will keep you all posted.

Good looking boot and I like an athletic style boot over a heavy lug sole.  They have a hefty price on them well into the Danner price range.  My problem is with the zip style, it is going to be too loose on some people's calfs and too tight on others.  I prefer a laceup for it's adjustability.  Also how well is that zipper going to work once it gets caked with mud and grit?

I think you bring up some good points Skeeter. I didn't pay the list price. Way lower, but that's due to a personal connection. I was worried about the zippers as I have never had boots with them. I always tuck my hunting pants  in my boots so I tried them on and the fit is perfect. They are extremely easy to get on and off. I like laces because of the reasons you mentioned, but I always have to struggle getting them on and off. This should be a lot easier from that perspective. The zippers themselves should not have a problem with mud, etc. They are plastic and nothing seems to stick to them. Only time will tell if these were a good purchase. At the price I got them, it's worth a try!

Good luck with them. Staying dry is another issue with boots these days. We'll be looking forward to hearing how they held up after turkey season.
