Anyone using Brooksides diaphragms?? Just curious, because @ $2.10 if they're any good that would be a bargin.

Never heard of them.  That is really cheap, that hardly covers cost of materials!

Well my favorite was Woodhaven's Raspy Red Reactor but recently I've been loving the Yellow Venom from Woodhaven.  Getting some great tones out of it right now!!!

Hard to pick just one but it has to be the WH Copperhead. Houndstooth and Gooserbat are close seconds

Thanks Lonnie.. Picked up up 4 of Cramers diaphragms, 2 Jezzebelles, and 2 Suzy's great calls for a great price. Some of these call makers are gettin pretty pricey on their diaphragms.. Thanks Again !!

To me there are alot of good mouth calls out there. I make my own most of the time and would like to make them to sell but I am so slow at doing it I could not make any money. Last year Kenny Crummett gave me 2 calls from Cramers custom calls and I loved them. I found on here where they are having a Jan. special for $3.50 each. The 2 I like alot are the Pink Ghost and the Sweet Talking Jezzebelle. I order 3 of each. I like them as good as any call I ever had in my mouth, since Gary Stillwell use to make the Mt. State calls in the 70's and 80's. These are my favorite right now. Like I said there are alot of goods ones out there to pick from. Good luck and good hunting.

Scott made me some larger framed Hooks diaphragms...now I'm HOOKED!!

Gman

when did this happen? i couldnt use them before because they were too small for me.

I guess I should be more specific...not a larger frame, but larger tape like the Woodhavens.
Just call Scott and he'll make them for you

Turkey Beard

Goes without saying that my favorite call is a 1Up call. Even though we have a "Turkey Beard's R.I.P." (named because I'm a funeral director), my favorite of ALL is the Three Gumodies (Italian for "girlfriends") Premium. I've never found a call that, once broken in, is so easy to use including purrs.

I've burned through maybe 1000+ mouth calls since I picked my first one up in 1978 or so.

I was fine with Primos, etc. when all the calls were $5.00+-.

But I'm not fine with $10-$12 mouth calls anymore, so I went searching for a better solution, and I found it with Mother Lode Calls.

I prefer the X-Terminator, and I could pick it out from a stack of calls as their flagship mouth call.

My first order was for 6 calls, my next order will be for 12 calls, as I'm hard on calls, and I love fresh calls  :)

One less thing to worry about....

Mine would have to be Mountain Screamer 4 reed drop cutter.  Every year I get about 5 or so more to try out.  The Mountain Screamer is almost the only one that keeps going back to my vest.  Last year I tried out the Zink line with Wicked Sister. I like that call as well.  This year I picked up a Woodhaven Raspy Red Reactor (which sounds wonderful), Hook's Devastator (awesome), Primos Long Hooks (not too impressed), and a MAD Billy Yargus Deadly Touch (Amazing).  If you couldn't tell I love a raspy call.  This year I'm sure the ones that are going to be sitting in my vest are the Mountain Screamer, Zink, Woodhaven, Hooks, and MAD.
