Wind destroys my hunting shack

We had some terrible winds last nite and today we found out just how bad. I had a 7'x7' huntin' shack that was built on a base of 2x6's with 4x4 runners underneath. It was constructed just like a house with 2x4 stud walls on 16 inch centers. 1/2 inch treated plywood all the way around with shooting windows and a shingle roof. I figure all together it probably weighed around 800-1000 lbs.
Oh yeah it was even staked down with cut off T-posts that had chain welded to them and lag bolted into the corners where the 2x4's were tripled.

This is where it sat. Look in the back left and you can see where it came to rest. That's my entry ramp to the right.

This is what's left about 70-80 feet away from where it sat.
Glad I wasn't setting in it when this happened!

Sorry to see Barry.

We had one on a hill and the wind picked it up and laid it in a hollow about 175 yards away.

It was not staked to the ground though.

God Bless,
David B.

Sorry to see that, Barry. You will have to build a nicer one, now. Try and make lemonade out of the lemons..
May I assume you're not here to inquire about the alcohol or the tobacco?
If attacked by a mob of clowns, go for the juggler.

"detroy"...southern term for "tore plum up!"

That was some serious wind!
We had a good storm blow thru a couple of days ago.  Same one that got you stand I suspect.
I haven't been out in the woods to check on mine.
Love to hunt the King of Spring!

Wow...good thing nobody was in it when the wind hit. Just rebuild it. Can you salvage anything from it?
