I went to see my buddy Rick up near St. Louis, and I traded my Fenix TK70 along with my charger and 13 D NIMH batteries after him twisting my arm of course for these 3 lights.  I think I did ok.  The one in the box was hardly ever used by him.  It's an HID YEZL 38/50watt.  It's a thrower.  The one in the middle is a Crelant 7G5V2 collimator head, and the one one the right is a Fenix TK50.

Here you can see the YEZL HID in action at 210yds to trees behind last electric pole.

Here it is at 445yds zoomed in.

Thanks.

Yes it is pretty impressive to turn on.

The 75watt I have coming should beat this 50watt one.

Update:  Well the 75w HID light I may not get due to a scammer.  I have filed a paypal claim and will get myh money back.

So I just ordered from a guy out of North Carolina that had a like new 45/65/85w HID flashlight that he bought 6 mo ago off ebay that he told me looks like  new one.  He has 2 bulbs, a 4300k one in it now which is more like sunlight and a 6000k bulb that came with it originally that is a cool white bulb.  I should have it by Monday.

And I replied.

Maybe this will help you make up your mind on a little thread I started at BLF.

I really think the EagleTac M3C4 XM-L U2 or Fenix TK35 XM-L U2 would be the way I would want to go.  The only drawback to the M3C4 is that it has a plastic polymer tailcap.  The TK35 is all aluminum.  Another great choice would be the Sunwayman V60C.  All aluminum and a lot brighter thant the TK35.

A great car light would be the L3 Illumination or ThruNite TN31.  Both are wickedly bright.

Thanks Ricky.  I'll try not to wake up your neighbors.  LOL!

Although very bright what type of batteries do these lights use and what is the actual burn time?  I have a Surefire with a torch head that takes 3 of the 3 volt sf123A batteries and it's bright but expensive to run in my opinion.

18650 lithium ion batteries.

The Hi-Max batteries are Samsung cells.  These are protected batteries.  I recommend buying protected 18650 batteries.

I like buying from this seller.  I have 10 of these that will be here tomorrow from Shane for $54.80 shipped or $5.48 each.  You can recharge these like 300 to 500 times.  But you need read up on lithium ion safety and know what your doing.  Lithium ion technology is what all the cordless drills has went to.  They hold a charge a lot longer than NIMH or NICD batteries and more than likely will last as long or longer.

I like using this charger to charge my 18650 batteries.  They make excellent batteries as well.

That HID light above takes a sealed lithium ion battery pack.  It 's like $60 or so to replace.
