Myself and a friend just got our fall food plots in and are looking for a herbicide to replace Slay. We have Arrest but the Slay is so dang expensive we are looking for something a little more cost effective to replace it.  Just curious if any of you farmers or food plot guys have found anything that works but cheaper?

Sorry I cant help, but what did you think of the Slay. How is it applied and what did you use it on.

The slat is used to control broadleaf plants. Use it to clean up clover and chicory plots. It works extremely well just so dang expensive.

Might check into pursuit I think that is correct spelling I used some a few years ago to clean up some food plot beans which is in the same family of clover

Don't know if this helps, but I get the generic Slay and generic Arrest at my local Farmers Co-Op. You can buy 1 gallon for just over what a pint of the name brand costs. Dont have the bottles on hand, but I just asked them if they had a generic and they said they did, but didn't advertise it.

Gentlemen,
I would like to introduce you to a website that has all the info you need for Foodplotting for Wildlife.
Go to the QDMA website http://www.qdma.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25851 and check out the Forum FoodPlots for Whitetails.  Click on the thread Winter Rye vs Winter Wheat, then go down to Lickcreeks thread entitled DblTree's Corner-FoodPlot Links and click on it.  This will open a TON of information from Herbicides, Brassicas, Grains, Clover and so on.  These Threads have a wealth of information for your Food Plots.  Give it a look.
Here's your answer straight out of this thread for Broadleaf control in clover "Butyrac 200 2,4-DB is safe to apply to clover, alfalfa and soybeans for broadleaf control."
