Hunting South East Montana

Does anyone have any experience hunting South East Montana? A buddy and I am planning on going with an outfitter we met at the NWTF convention in 2012. They are about 3 hours East of Billings. What is the turkey population like? Weather at the begining of the season? What are the birds usually like at the begining of the season (henned up, tight lipped, still flocked up)? Thanks for any info.
