"He leads me beside still waters.  He restores my soul"  (Psalm 23:2-3).

Everyone recognizes the soothing effect of water as it bubbles up from a fountain or into a brook.  Casting a lure on a calm farm pond early in the morning (maybe even hearing a couple of gobbles in the woods near by) is so enjoyable.

It's no surprise, then, that King David includes "still waters"  in his list of blessings that the Lord provides.  The waters provide a peaceful atmosphere, but they also provide water for a variety of animals and birds.

The Good Shepherd leads His sheep to just the right spot so they can quench their thirst with clean water.

Where do we go to quench our soul's thirst?  God's Word refreshes us every day.  Jesus says, "Whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again" (John 4:14).

To revitalize your flagging soul and dry spirit, relax with your Bible in hand and draw from it's well.  Let Jesus speak to you His gracious Words of life.  Take a sip by faith and believe that heavenly treasures are freely yours in Him.  Rely on this "Jesus water."  Its for you, dear friend!

Thank you for your words of encouragement today.  I find that if I ask the Lord to reveal something from His Word to me today, He does. It may be passages that I have read many times but have not grasped. Yes, the WORD OF GOD is a well that never goes dry. Thanks again!
