I am thinking of handing my silver down to my son and buying myself a new gun. I have it narrowed down to the Winchester sx3 or the browning maxus. Which would you buy.
Thanks ,Brent

both are great guns, the maxus feels better for me. See which one feels best to you.

If those were my only two choices, I would pick the SX3.

There are some internal differences, forcing cone length for example but they seem to pattern very similarly. I have had the SX3 since shortly after it was introduced. It's a good gun, very light and comes to the shoulder easily as does the Maxus. To me, it would a matter of whichever gun feels better or which is most appealing for whatever reason. They are both excellent guns.

Thanks,

I am leaning towards the sx3.  I shot one that my buddy bought the other day with my IC 675 and Hevi 3-1/2 7s and it was awesome.

Seems like I remember when the Maxus came out they had issues with the forend not staying tight. I like both of them though I like the SX2 better as an all around gun to include duck hunting.

A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands, love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper; his hands remember the rifle.
