Thinking about trying them.  Anybody done any testing?  If so, please post pics, choke, etc.

Thanks!

I shot a bunch of the 31/2" Federal HW 7's and 6's out of a BPS Invector + and never got what I considered a hunting pattern.  I had contacted Federal and spoke w/ Rachael Poore, head of product dev. for the HW loads and followed her suggestions on non-ported, parallel chokes and tried tubes w/ i.d.s of between .655-.700.  I finally gave up and sold all my shells.  I've shot 3/1/2" Hevi-13, MagBlends. 6's and 7's w/ the BPS in both an IC .665 and .675 and get phenomenal patterns w/ all of them.  The smaller shot favors the .665 and the MagBlends the .675.

Ordered a Pure Gold tempest in 660. I'll post the results.

These new pgtempest chokes in .660 may be the ticket with the fed. hwt's. It seems obvious Federal has no plans on doing away with the flight control wad.

I'd like to try them out with my SX3 with a tru lock .665 after my season closes.

I would like to also try the Trulock. I contacted them in March and they did not have the Inv+ ready yet.

They shoot excellent in mine, I have a super X2 3.5 with a Browning inv. + Jelly head .670 ,good even and dense pattern, close to 250 in a 10 in circle at 40 yards. My single shot in full choke puts around 116 in a 10 in circle at 40 yards with the 3in load of 7's, it has killed just as good as any load I have seen.
Hunt every day as if it were your last.

I have shot and seen those loads shot in two buddies guns.  We all use .665 nonported extended chokes.  We average just a bit over 200 in the 10" circle at 40 yards.  Two guns shoot the carlson choke and I shoot a cheap ext .665 choke.

They shoot great and have about a 16-18" usable pattern at 40 yards.

thanks
