In a compatible combo, the SSX's can be pretty impressive.

I've had mixed results with the ones that I have.

With your barrel, I'd give the Truglo TG170X (Gobble Stopper) a try.  Shot some 3 inch Win HV #5's through it at 40 and got 136 in the ten......pics in the patterning forum.

I settled on the Kicks GT I got off of ebay, it really likes the Win XX 3" 5's.  Good, even pattern at 40.

I have a BPS invector+, 26 inch barrel and the SSX choke has thrown some really good patterns this spring with Federal FCW #5 (2 ounce loads) and with Winchester XX #5 (1 7/8 ounce loads).  As I understand it, many ported chokes give issues with the FCW but I seem to be one of the lucky ones!

Just shot mine today with my reloads. 870 3" 28"bbl  Load is 1.875 oz #6 Cu-Pl  135/10/40. This is the best I have ever got even including 3.5" stuff.

That is a great lead pattern at 40

Same load as above at 70 degrees did 170/10/40. I am not sure why these shoot so much bettwer than anything else. Best I ever had with factory was 118. Thw shot was robbed from fed prem shells. Does anyone know what they use?
