I am no stranger to the turkey woods but this year I am having a dilemma.  Thanks to this website I have become a numbers/10" freak. :)  Well I have a Remmy 870 21" barrel 3" gun with an SSX choke that I have to use sights on but with the Hevi 3/2/6 shell I average around 180/10 with my highest being 206/10.  (Wish I could accomplishment that again.)  I also have a SX2 with a 28" barrel that POI and POA are in line with each other using only the fiber optic bead I installed.  The SX2 with Win. Ext. Range 3.5 #4s at 40 is averageing around 110/10 (highest at 134/10 and wish I could accomplish this again) and Win. Ext. Range #6s is probably averaging around 170/10.  The Win. shells are throwing a nice even 20" pattern; even with the #4s.  The Remmy throws a nice 10" pattern with the 20" slightly more sparse than the SX2.  Just hoping I could get some opinions.  Might just have to kill one with each gun if I can't make my mind up!! :toothy9:

I'd use both guns to kill a gobbler. that way no one is left out ;D  Those are some real good numbers, and i wouldn't bother with the 4's those xtended range 6's hit like a hammer.

X2 plus I like the no extra added sights when possible. 4s in Er are way overkill. 6s in that are plenty.

Those #s sound good , I personally like a short barreled gun, I go with the remmy.

Open that 870 up from .660-.670 and you will see those 20" numbers go up.  The SSX is good choke, but others will give you a better hunting pattern not so focused on the 10" numbers, rather the big picture.

if I could get a good hunting pattern with the 4's
I would hunt with them
it's not the harvest,it's the chase
