Last year "before polishing but deep cleaned" With a 23" 870, Jelly Head .660, H-13 3.5" 2oz #6 175-190..lot#100575           After polishing same choke load, 201- 220. All shots were at a measured 40yds. I did have to adjust my red dot a little. Sorry no pics tho.as for lot numbers the 201 was lot#100575 bought a couple years ago. And 220 was lot#300752. bought this year.

Cool. I am hoping to polish 870 SM SP 26" bbl this week and see what I get with hevi 6's and 7's. I had big plans to shoot it dirty compared to after deep cleaning compared to after polishing. May not have that much time.

Great numbers!  Here is some humor on my set-up based on patterning yesterday....

I was pressed for time (farm work comes first) and wanted to get some patterns at 40 yrds on my new 11-87 SM prior to polishing.  Well Note to self that not all scopes are created equal.  I was assuming 4 clicks / inch @ 100 yrds on a red-dot scope and started Left of the target (With a excellent looking pattern) about 12 inchs left at 40 yrds.  So I moved it over 25 inchs x 4 (based on 100 yrds) and was almost off my large cardboard on the opposite side.  So I ended up shooting 4 more shots till I gave up and figured I would verify what the scopes adj was per click.

Turned out 1 click = 1 inch at 100 yrds...  Only off by a factor of 4!  Deep cleaned the new guns barrel only and just installed a .660 Jelly Head choke on the 12 Gauge with 3.5 HV Pb and as noted impressed at 40 yrds on the impact.  Can't wait to go back and site in prior to polishing to see where I am before and after.  I'm thinking of asking a local bike shop for cardboard bike boxes to use for shooting board to staple to a wood frame and no plywood or backer needed.
