Guys

I want to get a trumpet over the summer and learn how to use it! No one I have ever hunted with runs one and I think it will give the birds a little different sound that may help me win over a few hard hunted birds. So, who makes a good and how do you run them??

Also, what is the best way to begin learning how to run them?

There are several good call makers here
merocustomcalls
mudpuppi
mkw
gitzit
pappy
trkyhtr
and others, including myself

As far as learning, if you can find the Alan Sentell video somewhere, it is a good one and very informative. I would also recommend youtube. Best bet is to get with someone who really knows the internal workings and how to run one
Pray as if everything depends on God, work like everything depends on you

When you get one I willl send you a pm on how to get started but running it is the best thing I have found to help get better

The hardest part for me was finding that certain spot in my mouth where I could control the air flow the best. I put mine halfway between the front and the corner on my left side. I have a buddy who puts his in the corner and another who runs his in the front. After you pick the spot, the rest will come. I start by making a cluck, then proceeded to yelps, keekee's, and purrs. The purr was the hardest by far for me to learn. They are the most natural sounding call in my opinion, and not a lot of fellers use them which makes it even better!

Thanks guys! I believe I am going to order an African Blackwood with Black Desrin mouthpiece from Pappy.
