I say sling.  In WV I have a thermacell, but the bugs are minimal during my season April 23 is opening and lasts 4 weeks.  Tics, now that is a different story.

But he's not in WV.  :whip2:

Thermocell

We are on a fairly close Latitude, so I was figuring a similar climate, he just doesn't have mtns

:whip2: :whip2:

Utah is also on the same longitudinal line.

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons.  However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.

Dryer sheet works almost as good as a thermacell and Permethrin works for the ticks....So buy the claw

Genesis 27:3 - Now then, get your weapons—your quiver and bow—and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.

I live in KY, I'd go with the sling, no doubt.  I have both, barely use the thermacell during turkey season.  I use it a lot during our early bow deer season though.

Where I hunt in Ga. I would not go in the woods without my Thermacell.

If it was me i would go with the thermacell.

Buy the sling, I have eight turkey guns and I ain't packing nary a one without a sling. Skeeter dope is cheap, swipe your wife/girlfriends skin so soft and use that or swipe her dryer sheets

A friend of mine gave me a Thermacell a few years ago, and I have yet to take it out of the box. When I hunt in the South, it is early in the season, and skeeters are not a big problem yet. When I hunt here, they normally just aren't that bad, so I just rely on some 100% deet from Walmart.

Rub it on your skin, then place one in your back pocket. I think it confuses them by making not be able to recognize your CO2(which is how skeeters find you).
