This is the first time in a long time that I am excited about putting some plants in the ground and having home grown produce.  Oh, sure, I like fresh produce as much as the next guy, but never enjoy the waiting and maintenance as much as biting into that homegrown produce.  In years past, I have been excited about growing a few vegetables, go to the store and look over plants being careful to select what I hope will be the best they have to offer.  I go out and till up the garden space and plant the plants/seeds with big hopes for the delicious squash, tomatoes, etc.  After a few waterings and not seeing results as quickly as I like, or not to the extent that I hope for, often I have let the weeds grow up, don't water like I should and then actually end up begrudging the withered plants that I spent good money on...

There's a lesson to be learned:

James 5:7-8

The Message (MSG)

7-8Meanwhile, friends, wait patiently for the Master's Arrival. You see farmers do this all the time, waiting for their valuable crops to mature, patiently letting the rain do its slow but sure work. Be patient like that. Stay steady and strong. The Master could arrive at any time.
