You freeze your mouth calls in water after the season??  Doesn't it effect the reeds at all??

Not at all...I said I got some over 5yrs old...but probably got some about 10yrs old that are good as new. I keep the ones I'm using during the season in an Altoid can with a pc of sponge in it. I pour a little water and Scope on the sponge and run warm water down onto the reeds from the open end of the calls every day after I get back from a hunt and try to remember to keep them in the fridge when not hunting. Don't always remember to do it, but do keep them moist.

My wife bought me one and its ok, but its hard to beat my Hooks Executioner and some of my Woodhaven calls. JMO :)

I grew up in Mississippi and for over 25 years have used Primos mouth calls.  I've had a true double in my call pouch every year since I started hunting and it was my go to call.  Needless to say the last few years, Primos has really missed the mark with mouth calls..especially with those signature (green) calls.

For the past two years I have used woodhaven and hooks executioner exclusively, but since I've been a Primos man for most of my life I did try one of these new calls.

I would say...give it a try.  I think they are finally back to making great sounding mouth calls.  Especially the "Long Hooks" model that I got.  It has taken the place as the "go to" call for me.  It's really easy to blow and has a raspy sound that I think a lot of calls have lost.

Primos has them on their website for $14.99.  Or two for the low low price of $24.99.  I'll continue to get mine from the FINE Companies that advertise here on OG.  These calls have proven themselves, year after year!
agreed custom calls are the way to go!

Geez that's steep for a mouth call. Sure do love my hooks calls.
