Just picked up a couple of boxes of Hevi13 7s with the lot #380754.  Does anyone know if they are from the good batch or the bad ones?

Hard to say?  The proof is in the puddin!!!  Pattern those babies and post up some picks :z-guntootsmiley:

Are there problems with Hevi13's?  I'm about to get some.

#6
Went to the range today with these loads.  Temp was 65 degrees.  Two guns used were 28'' browning maxus with hevi 13 choke and 24'' 835 with pure gold choke.  Numbers are from a 10'' circle.

Maxus:
40 yards 257

835:
40 yards 216

I was expecting more from the 835.

The lot # on mine this year is 380754. Last year was 300500. Havent shot any new ones yet, got plenty from last year.

I bought a couple of boxes of 12G 3" #6 2oz last year that one or two rounds in each box were not sealed and/or crimped properly and a lot of the buffer material "leaked" out.  I was afraid to shoot these as I could hear the pellets rattle around inside. Was not happy as they are expensive shells.

MERCing

If you buy them off of the shelf, open the boxes and check the individual shells for QC.
I have gotten several in 12 and 20 ga that have had crimping issues. Some were crimped considerably deeper than others. Only way to do that is to compress the wad too much or some of the components are missing ???
Others had sealing issues that weren't sealed good(or at all).
I recently bought 6 more boxes of the H13, # 7's in 20 ga and 6 of these 30 had qc issues.

I still buy them because they work better in my combo's than the other HTL options that are on the market. I just wish they'd get the qc issues worked out.
