Federal Heavywieghts in remington choke

Hey guys, I figured this would be the best place to ask this question, you guys are pretty smart (so it seems)

OK, I have an 870 super mag. I currently have a Turkey Extra-Full Rem™ Choke with a .687 constriction, I am wanting to try the Federal Premium Mag Shok Heavyweight #7's this year. Will this choke handle the Feds?

Not really looking at getting a new choke.

I don't know the answer to that question but I'd sure like hear how they pattern for you thru that choke.

I likewise would like to know the answer, Is that a lead only choke tube? I seriously stretched an undertaker with the 3.5 heavyweight #7s last year. I've got two new choke tubes I'll be trying soon....one of them is the Rem choke Super full which is a little tighter constriction than yours.

Not really looking at getting a new choke.

Since a full choke for that gun is .690 your choke tube is just a bit tighter than that.

My concern would be that I have no idea what type of steel was used to make that choke tube. If it's ported, that would also add to my concern about using it. The 12 gauge Federal Flitecontrol Wad is pretty unyielding so I'd proceed with caution, if at all.

I know you don't want to purchase another choke but considering all of the alternatives, it might be a better choice.

I guess I was wrong on the choke, its actually a super full, .665 constriction. Thats what you get for assuming, and you know who that makes look like a donkey.

I will contact Rem this morning, and let you know.

Looks like I cannot shoot them out of my choke. My choke says lead only, and to be able to shoot the Tungsten, it must say lead or steel. Oh well, might be looking at a new choke now. Trulock should have their new Federal #7 choke out in a couple weeks. Maybe I can get it in before season and get some shells thru it.
