Gobbling

I haven't played a tube call but want to know, is a tube call easy to gobble on? If so, are tube calls made differently for different pitch or ease of play?

I have used a Morgan Caller for gobbling since 1973.  It works fine when gobbling works.  It mostly works on dominant gobblers, until it doesn't.

 I think a tube call gives better gobbles than any other type call. I'm not sure how to answer on ease of play. If you've not used a tube much there would be more practice involved. I don't have a "gobbling" tube, it's the one around my neck. Any call you're partial to. Several good tube call makers on here, Scpossum is a good place to start.

The tube call is what I use for gobbling, I think it has the most realistic gobble. I use the tuka tuka tuka method bring air up from the diaphragm

I also just use the same tube for gobbling as for clucks or yelps.
As for ease of use, the dished out lip stop design scpossum makes (ala TAL)
Has been the easiest one I have played and the one I hunt with the most

Some tube callers produce extremely realistic gobbles.  However, the sound in general will vary by the physical characteristics of the tube and, of course, the person using it.

The dimensions and material used to make the tube, the type of reed, the thickness of the reed, baffles, etc. all play a part.

Practice, practice, practice.  The effort is worth the result.
