Decoys

Haven't bought or used decoys in forever. Looking for something light in the mountains not too bulky. What's the latest on the market? Thanks

Some of the high end ones are too heavy IMO.  If I carry anything other than my Funky Chicken it is one of the Primos hens.

I have Avian-X; they look great and hold up well. I use them for my field hunting but they are much too heavy when I hunt an area with big hills and lots of walking.  I haven't looked into any lightweight decoys.

Look at the HS Strut - Strut lite decoys ... they have hen, Jake and also a flock of decoys and reasonably priced.

I have avians I bought near 10 years ago. They are pretty but heavy.Do need a bit lighter.

In a field setup, I use DSD in many different configurations, but I don't carry them through the woods. I have 2 Featherflex from 2001 that are still very serviceable. The 3rd one got mauled by a coyote years ago and she is out to pasture for sentimental reasons, lol. Z

Lightest, easiest to carry and never had a bird shy away from is the Primos Photoform Jake and hen. Very realistic, and pack into vest-bag real well. You don't even know your carrying them. Good luck..

If you can find the Primos inflatable hen pocket decoy you won't be disappointed. Light and folds down very small. Unfortunately they don't nake them anymore but if you can find a used one they are well worth it.

I've  had success with Sceery blow up decoys but I don't  believe their made anymore. But you might be able to find them or something  similar. Good luck.
