looking for a new grill

thanks for all the input guys we went to home depot today and purchased a weber.just got done putting it together,it was a breeze looks like a really well made grill.

You won't regret it.  Weber has been the best grill I have owned.  I hear they will last 10yrs.  I had mine 2yrs or so and it still looks great on the outside.  And I let it sit out all year uncovered.  They are like indestructible.

Although they tend to be a little pricey on a feature-by-feature basis, Weber grills (gas or charcoal) are going to be hard to beat.  They tend to last MUCH longer than cheaper grills, and they are consistent performers.  Plus, they're made in the good ol' USA.

Those Big Green Eggs are awesome too, but they're expensive, heavy, and FRAGILE!  They make great smokers, though.  

My dream patio would have a Big Green Egg, a Weber charcoal kettle, a Weber gasser, and a Stumps smoker.  

I love my Weber charcoal grill. I used my grandpa's after he went to assisted living for along time - it was old with wooden handles but still worked good. Just upgraded last year to a new blue weber charcoal. Great grills.

It is hard to beat a Weber. I have own two and both lasted and lasted. I did purchase a stainless Char Broil; it was less then the Weber. The stainless steel Char Broil started to rust within six months and it was under roof and out of the weather. I am waiting for a sale on the Weber Genesis model. I was told at Lowes that Weber controls the sales of their grills and not Lowes.

I've had one for 15 years now and never had to replace one part AND it would take several trucks to haul all the meat that has been cooked on it!!! We use it year 'round.
I paid about $400 for it and its been worth every penny.

Plus it cooks with low heat so you don't have to keep checking it.

Barry I pulled up the web site on the Holland Grills. Pretty interesting, it cooks the same way a convection oven cooks. One temperature setting, a little different but it gets good reviews.

I am a Weber man, also. I am on my second gas grill. I had a Genisis for 20 yrs. and took it to the cottage where it still works just fine. (I replaced the burners twice.) I bought the Summit Gold a few years back, and like it more than the first one. I still keep a charcoal Weber around for the special occasions, but rarely use it. The crossover tubes on my burners were bad this spring when I cleaned it so I called Weber and was told that they were guaranteed for 10 years, so I got the whole stainless steel burner system for free. You can't beat that with a stick..You pay a little more, but it is worth the money..JMHO..Mike
