Tail Feathers

Texas is proposing some changes to their turkey regulations too.  The eastern third and very far western Texas would go to a one bird limit as I understood the brief.
Without consulting a map, that would leave most of the best turkey hunting alone, so no need to panic yet.  It seemed to say it would roll our super-late season on easterns back to the entire month of April.  That would be good, but I only saw a synopsis and it wasn't really clear.  I do need to do more reading on these proposed changes.
Love to hunt the King of Spring!

Interesting. I sympathize with game agencies in some respects because it's tough to manage a game bird that's hunted during its breeding season while also maintaining hunter satisfaction.

Nice to see biological data being used to turn TWRA's commission's political and emotional decision back around. Here is to hoping TN gets a week of their April season back!

They seem like they are trying to do what's best for both sides, by getting all the input? Guess we'll see. Funny thing...Indiana sent out a survey request for deer sightings on your cameras. They wanted to know how many pics of deer you had, doesn't matter if it was the same deer, 2 sec apart, and they wanted all cameras, even if your cameras were 60-70 yards apart. This was in a week or two time frame. So, in reality I was to send them 3 cameras 500 pics each, because I have burst mode set, which would be 1500 pics in 1 week. But in reality, it was the same 20 deer, as they all have markings. So now the state will say we have plenty of deer, and we can give out more bonus tags, aka money for them, when in reality it's nowhere close. Idiots.
