I recieved an invitation to participate in a survey for the FWC involving weather or not to allow the use of dogs for fall turkey hunting in FL.  I would like to have some input from y'all either for or against before I give them my input. Thanks,
Rick

I don't see any reason why you shouldn't be able to use dogs. Maybe this would be a good question for Dr. Williams.

I have only hunted with one turkey dog, but it was a pleasure. This dog led us to a flock of turkeys, busted up the flock on command, and sat hidden quietly in the brush while we called back most of the flock and double up on Fall birds. Great experience. I would choose other methods of Fall hunting for myself, but if someone enjoys hunting them with dogs I would be in favor of them being able to.

I would love to give this a try  :z-guntootsmiley:

Would love to see any type of hunting meathod legalized, and hate to see any outlawed. The only problem I've ever had with dogs was that they can't read property lines and have no respect for fences. That's probably more of the owners fault. Nothing wrong with responsible dog hunting.

Sounds like it might be a fun way to hunt them.

I voted for this also. I've read a few things about it and in some states it's been going on for a long time. Chief.

I have never hunted Turkeys with dogs but have seen some shows and the training that goes into the hunting with dogs is a lot, to have a dog bust a flock and then sit still while the Turkey is coming in takes a lot of training.

I've had 3 turkey dogs myself and several of my friends have them. Great way to hunt fall birds.
After busting a flock there's lots of action, lots of calling
