Anybody have a newer 28 gauge pump? Opinions please. I was always an 870 guy growing up, but the new 870 doesn't look to come in a 28 gauge. Browning and Ithaca make one. Looking for a shorter barrel( 21-26 inches) is preferred, with screw in chokes. I think this is the bunch to ask on this one. Thanks, Z

The BPS is a tank! Very well made gun. Shoots TSS lights out. 26" barrels available. The negative is the weight, a product of a milled steel receiver. My older one is a little more than 7#.

I have no experience with the Ithaca. Been around a looong time. Negative is expensie.

Charles Daly has one in a 24 inch I believe, quality is probably questionable?

Dude 26" plus a choke tube definitely isn't short in my book. I am taking an interest in the 28ga though.

I have a Charles Daly 28 gauge Semi auto 25 inch barrel, no problem with birds killed with it. Factory chokes and Foxtrot cherry bomb .  Absolutely working all the way.

I have the M37 with 26" BBL. Dream to carry and shoots just as well.

CZ makes a really nice 28 gauge, the CZ 628. I looked really hard but couldn't find any in stock, so I ended up with an Autoloader.  The 628 was substantially lighter and cheaper than the Browning, Ithaca, and 870.
