I wish that folks on here would not do stuff like that as it just makes it tougher for all of the rest of us. As already said, a man's word is all that he really has and I guess for some it just does not mean anything.

My biggest concern is not if a person buys my item or not (as someone else will buy it at some point), for me an even bigger concern is me paying for an item they are selling and either not getting it or them sending me a bum call. Thank God that I have been very blessed thus far and only had good experiences as far as that goes.

Here is a suggestion, if a person pulls stuff where they say they will buy a call and then don't, and they don't have a good reason (family emergency, their paypal account was hacked, or something else major) maybe we could have a place on here to post their names so others on here can try to avoid them in the future. If a person comes back with a genuine reason and is honestly apologetic, I am all for second and maybe third chances, but most times that is not the case and the person just did not follow through and misled the other party as a result.

I'd like to know why people do this as well. It happens all the time to me on other want ad venues.  If you change your mind, just say so!  Is that so hard.  Theres alot of weirdos out there.  Non face to face interactions make it way more prevalent.

I haven't had it happen yet. I think for the most part the guys like me that have been on here a while, pretty much buy and sell to the same group of folks.

It sucks that all of the scammers are ruining a good thing with hunter to hunter sales of used items. I pretty much just buy new only any just to avoid the hassle.

It doesn't pay to be a good guy when you're selling something here or on other sites. FB Marketplace is the worst. Here and on other sites I've had guys say, "I'm interested in your call." or "I'd like your call." , then when I asked them how they'd like to pay they say, " I don't have any money." or "I can't afford it right now.".  My standard answer now is, "First guy that pays for it gets it, ".  It would be like me telling someone with a $10 million dollar yacht for sale, "I'd like to buy your yacht." Then when they say, "OK", I'd say, "I can't afford it."   Why do they even bother to tell me they'd like to buy my call if they're too broke?

When I was a much younger man, I heard one of my managers talking about a client.  I am certain he did not originate this phrase but I remember it to this day.  He said "People with good intentions make promises.  People with good character keep them."

Back when I was young your word meant something.
You looked somebody in the eye, shook their hand and your word was your bond, but not today! Different times we live in and the internet hasn't made things much better.
Many people look at me like I am odd because I expect them to keep their word, you can break a promise but you never break your word. Being brought up by a father that was very Italian you had honor beat into you. (mentally) I wish I had understood it more and had acted better back then, it became so much more to me when I got into my 20's and getting saved changed me immensely.

I can't tell you how much money I have cost myself because I choose to never break it. Or time or even friends that do not understand the concept honor or keeping their word. I would rather have my honor than anything else and wish more people felt that way.

I'm hoping the folks who did it read this and change their ways.
