I live in PA. Saturday, June 4th I saw turkeys out at my shop. I slipped out of the house and sat on my porch and watched a gobbler breed a hen. I was quite surprised as I thought it was over. The gobblers heads were no longer colored up, no strutting, gobbling or any interest in hens lately.

Is anybody else seeing late breeding?

If a hen is receptive then a gobbler will breed them no matter when it is.

May 30th, I took a fine long beard in northern PA that was following two hens.  He shock gobbled only once when I cut hard on a trumpet.  He was only about 100 yards away.  An hour later he followed the two hens in.  No strutting, no gobbles, no spit and drum.  Just followed them about 50 yards behind.

Often, hens lose their nest for many reasons.  They will often breed again and make a second smaller nest.
