ferocious calls

Steve the guy who called them, scouts like it is his job. His father as well. Some will boo hoo things for the sake of disagreement or because they know everything and want everyone to know it. Just makes me chuckle a bit.

Can hardly wait to hunt with these guys again in the future. They live to hunt and hunt to live.

Lots of experts on "easy" unpressured birds online.  They all claim to hunt "real" turkeys with more pressure than grandma's canner.  I've yet to understand how they know so much about unpressured birds considering they wouldn't be caught dead near one.

Spot ON!!! Some people talk as though they were on the hunt, with the guys pictured. Now I don't know for sure but I would bet they were not there. So they don't know how hard these guys hunted, the difficulties they faced. Either way Congratulations to all the hunters. Looks like a great time to me.

Have a good one

I always enjoy a photo that captures the character of the hunt...  For me...  That photo lacks the character I enjoy seeing.

I know NOTHING of the backstory behind the OP's pic.  But I do know that my first assumption was not that the hunt was in some way "canned".
I never said that the hunt was "canned."  In a picture with a bunch of hunters posing a bunch of turkeys, I will assume they were hunting a "turkey rich" environment.  A situation that I would gladly take advantage of myself given the opportunity.

And...  Were I at a turkey camp, and we were all successful, I might join in on a group photo to keep as a personal memory...  I would likely not post such a picture on a public forum...

"I" enjoy seeing pictures that capture the "character" of the hunt...  Something personal...  Or the landscape...  Or respecting the beauty of the bird....

Seeing a bunch of dead turkeys lined up in front of some hunters simply does not appeal to me.  Either does rap music...  That does not mean that it does not appeal to someone else, and I understand that.

But the picture was posted on a public forum...  With (what I assume) is the intentions of generating an opinion-based discussion.
Did I do that?

Fly fishermen are born honest, but they get over it.

Nope. I was just trying to share this crazy cool pic of a friend who got Ferocious.  An all Sycamore short box was his tool.
