Turkey hunting Virginia

Hello, just wanted to ask if anyone had any idea turkey populations in the national forest west of Harrisonburg ? We are going in that area for the opener and any help is appreciated !

Dgif sent out a email last week and one of their biologist said that that part of the state was predicted to have a good year. Other then that I have no idea

Been there done that. They are there but you'll have to work for them.  Agree with the comment to bring good boots or hiking shoes and will add to pack plenty of water.  I have heard that area referred to as "Little Switzerland" a few times.

When I was in college , the areas around Flagpole and Reddish Knob were loaded ... problem with that is it was almost 40 years ago. Good luck , beautiful country  .

Some of those ridges in that area run between 3000-4000 feet in elevation. Some huge drainages. Hope you're in shape. Good luck.
