I don't know what y'all dudes are talking about saying it won't effect anything. It's definitely going to effect me. I get to go a lot because of my flexibility at work but if I don't come up with some extra gas money I won't be able to go near as much as last year. We are on a tight budget and don't have much wiggle room for extra expenses. Last year it cost me about $11 a trip which I helped to pay for buy selling call lanyards. I don't know what it will end up costing this year but I'm going to have to get creative with some income.  For the locals that live close by it won't have much of a effect but I have to drive about an hour.

When tss went commercial shells went from 10-20 dollars for a box of 10 to 50-60 dollars for a box of 5. Nobody batted an eye . And I'd argue most are shooting that now . Not all but most.  2 boxes 100-120 dollars. I figure for the average die hard , which everybody seems to be now it's gonna take a lot more mark up on things to really ... hinder people from getting to the woods . I know some folks are indeed on a tight budget like you mentioned .... But Hek when the pandemic started and everybody was off work .... You would of thought people where I live would be in a panic for money ..... Hek no ..... you could not and still cannot even buy an atv..... there's a community close to me , couple roads over. Very impoverished, like on the extreme end judging by their living conditions. Brand new atvs in every yard , and about 50 of them at the nearby river trespassing and riding illegally every weekend during the pandemic . A multi thousand dollar machine . When I see poor people doing things like this , and I have to compare somebody not turkey hunting over a tank of gas. I consider it a non factor for the most part. I expect the woods in my area to possibly be even more crowded since every swinging cod that put in for the non resident draw drew a tag ....you also have to consider folks who are gonna be responsible about their situation verses those who are not. My local accountant will testify that most are not gonna be responsible sadly .

Dixon vests selling for over $2,000 bucks. Gas prices are not a concern for most die-hard Turkey hunters......

There's always a huge rush at the beginning of season. It's opening day, opening week, time to get after em. Most people burn out after the first week or so, a few stay after em
