I'm torn between the two. For you fellas that have turkey hunted with both, which do you like the best? I know it's a personal preference but figured I'd ask for opinions on them.

I have both in 20 gauge and have killed gobblers with both. Both have the 24" barrels.

The action is the same, however the Ultra Light has a bit more machining to reduce weight.

The ultra Light also has a carbon fiber rib, which i don't believe is secure enough to mount an optic to it.

The M2 has the comfort tech stock, which allows you to customize the check rest and is supposed to reduce recoil.

The Ultra Light is wood with shiny blue steel. My M2 was black, now ceracoated.

The M2 can hold 3 in the tube, while the Ultra Light only holds 2. The Ultra light has a gold trigger.

Both have the same barrel and crio plus choke set up

I believe that about it

Just realized I didn't answere your question! My wife hunts with the ultra light and I use the m2. I prefer the m2 cause their are no worries about scratching it

I can't comment from personal experience hunting with the ultralightweight but I do own 3 M2s.

According to Benelli, the ultralightweight 20 ga weighs 5.2lbs with a 26" barrrel and the M2 compact weighs 5.6 lbs with a 24" barrel.  Both guns have the same internal components and action but the M2 certainly has more desirable features for hunting (24" barrel, black synthetic/camo options, 3 in the magazine tube, etc) with the exception of the 4 ounce difference.

Both guns will undoubtedly perform exceptionally for you if maintain properly; for me the 4 ounce difference between the two has never warranted owning one.

Hello Chad, you can interchange your barrels between the M2 and the Ultra Light?

lacire - the barrels are not interchangeable. The barrel hanger on the m2 slides over the tube, while the UL hanger goes onto a threaded bolt on the end of the mag tube.

Heres a pic of the M2 (camo) barrel and mag tube with the UL (blued) mag tube and barrel
