Saw a first on our youth hunt this passed weekend. Heard a gobble off to our right, yelped and he was coming. He gobbled again at 60 yards. He hung for a few minutes and I decided to purr and he strutted at us hard. All of a sudden I heard a hen yelp and cutt. She ran right over the hill and WHAM, ran right into the tom, lol. I don't know if it was intentional or just an accident. But regardless of the intent, he shied up and she dragged him away. I have a better plan for them this weekend on our opener. They might not fare so well with 2 hunters. Good luck and God Bless. Al Baker

I've seen them intercept, Call them off, and lead them away. But I've never seen that before. Must have been a humorous show to watch. Good luck with the opener.

I've seen them run up to a tom and brush up on their side and lay down to get bred but never seen one run into one like that. Turkeys are strange critters

I saw the title to this thread, and my first thought was  #stopturkeyabuse

The hen I wrote about here was like that. She'd bump them, peck them. She pushed them around and directed their lines of travel like a herding dog. But she must've had the goods to back it up because them old boys just fell in line.

That's a new one on me too. Good luck this weekend!
