Happy

Put me in the 835 or 535 category. No frills, straight business.

Benelli SBE2 and be done with it. Probably one of the best do it all shotguns ever made.
Benelli is tough to beat, expensive, but it's a lifetime gun and they are so simple and just plain work. I have an original SBE, absolutely love it.

My friend has a Remington 870 he bought new when he was in the service in 1972. He still has it and its still his go to gun for most of his hunting, small game, waterfowl, upland and turkey. Never gave him a problem and he loves it. Remington has made over 12,000,000 of 'em since 1950. There will always be after market accessories for this shotgun. Sooner or later somebody is going to reopen Remington. I happen to use a Rem Turkey/Predator 870 right now for the last 5 years and I am very happy with it.

My vote goes to Remington 870!

We wait all year, why not enjoy the longbeard coming in hunting for a hen, let 'em' in close !!!

Fantastic responses.  You said you'd prefer a pump, so I'd go with a Mossberg 500 personally.

If I was isolated somewhere , the only gun I'd want slung on my shoulder would be a pump action shotgun in general and a Remington 870 in particular.

I've already bought all the "perfect" turkey guns I'll ever need.

To narrow it down to one...........very hard to do.  But I'd have to pick my Super X2.  That would leave my Super X3 as a neck-and-neck second, only because it's a 28" gun where the SX2 is a 26" gun.  A distant, but honorable mention would be a 30-ish year old 870 SP Turkey 21" gun.

That all being said......... I've been using a SumToy tricked out NEF Pardner 20 gauge exclusively for about 3 years.

The good Lord ain't made a gobbler I can't kill.  I just gotta be there at the right time.....  on the day he wants to die.

I have a Benelli SB 1 and it is flawless in all situations. If I had to buy a new gun today for a one gun does it all. I would buy a Benelli M2 12 with 26" barrel.

870 wingmaster supermag 28 inch light contour barrel if it's a pump.

I'm mostly a 20 gauge guy but I like 3.5 capability if I'm going to be carrying a 12 gauge and wingmasters are a pretty big step up from an express.
