X2 I purchased one of Glendas' Minimalist Satchels last year and left my ALPS vest at the house. Looking forward to the up coming spring season and will not be using the vest this year either.  Once you go Minimalist ,you won't go back

What do you do about a seat?

Last year I carried a boat cushion and it worked just fine.  When Glenda introduced her new inner tube seat earlier this year, I jumped on one of those with a strap and look forward to being able to "fine tune" my seat this year for added comfort.

Awesome! So vest strap over one shoulder, seat strap over the other sort of thing.

Yep, that's the plan. Just fyi, I put the strap over my shoulder and over my head to the opposite shoulder so I don't have to worry about the straps sliding off. You have to experiment with this in order to determine what works best for you, you may like it that way and you may not - trial and error sorta thing.

Replying to an earlier post.  They do, indeed, have a zipper.

Pretty similar to your rig! I wear an Alps Vantage chest harness and I keep a foam seat clipped to the back of my belt with a carabiner. The chest pack runs with 2 pots, 4 strikers and a box call, plus I manage to fit a few shells, scotchbrite, chalk and license into the front pocket. No room for the binoculars though!

Mouth call, shotgun and a chair!  No vest needed, do this many times throughout the season and love it!

I use a lafuma low chair, like 2lbs.
