Been doing some reading on various Turkey loads, came across  something interesting. Fiocchi has a Nickel Plated load made for turkey. It's called Fiocchi Golden Turkey. Comes in 12 gauge 3 and 3.5 inch. The thing that caught my attention is the 3 inch  1 3/4 oz load has a speed of 1325 FPS. This is the fastest load I have come across in 12 gauge 3 inch. Does that kind of speed increase penetration? Many of you might remember the Active Nickel plated load from years ago that I thought was impressive. They patterned real well, I wish I could still get them. The nickel shot  claims to be harder, producing better patterns. Would love to hear your thoughts on this load. Both the 3 and 3.5 come in ten round boxes for around 10 bucks. Thanks for listening.....

I can't comment on the turkey load. But I have shot a lot of their Golden Pheasant loads. 12 ga. 2 3/4 1 3/8 oz 6 advertised at 1485 fps. Work well on Pheasant!

IMO, we are putting WAYYYY to much on the Latest and Greatest shells for killing turkeys.  Our forefathers used 2 3/4 inch #4 shot with a fixed full choke to kill a bird.  I've heard of plenty of guys that have used #6 plated lead pheasant loads to do a number on Ole 3 toes.  If we do our due diligence and pattern our guns with a particular load and stay within a required distance, we can expect Good results from most shells.  I'll bet a 3" #6 nickel plated lead shell pushing 1325 fps from Fiocchi, would hammer a bird out to 40.  I would be very interested to see if anyone has any pattern pics with this load.

Thanks, the price seems crazy, about a dollar a shell. I would like to see some pattern pics too. I got cabin fever, so started reading up on all things Turkey. Came across this shell. Be safe....

I saw some customer reviews (maybe on MidwayUSA?) claiming the wad was the weak point of this load, but I cannot speak from experience.

I've shot these loads in a 12 gauge 2 3/4 inch for awhile now. I liked them.
