Mr. Snodgrass contacted me to let me know that my name had come up for a call earlier this month, he sent me the Brazilian Walnut over Walnut boat paddle. Listening to it in the apartment I thought it sounded a awful lot like the Ipe over Chestnut  I had gotten from Ernie Fetters but I got to take them both out this morning to an area without a lot of noise (Other than sheep bleating) and the sounds are not alike at all. I like the sounds of both by the way. The box portion is from his uncles basement and he believes at least 60 years old and the lid is Walnut from Brazil. I forgot to ask him what the inlay is.

I also picked up one of Mr. Snodgrass' holsters from him and learned that they should be carried sideways in the holster as shown to avoid broken lids.

Mr. Snodgrass was a pleasure to talk with and a very pleasant man.

I was going through some messages on Facebook earlier in the month and found a message where I was going to buy a scratch box from
Cypress Creek Turkey Calls that was several months old that I had forgotten about, I wanted to make things right so I contacted Rick Ferlita and apologized for forgetting and purchased this Spalted Tamarind and African Blackwood Scratch Box from him.

Thank you both. I think I may have a call collecting problem.

A quality paddle caller will most run itself.  It just needs someone to carry it around the woods. Yoder409

Thank you but the truth is I only had a choice with the scratch box, Mr. Snodgrass is no longer taking custom orders but I wanted one from him because he is a legend in the call making game. I had hoped to get either apple or persimmon or both.
