I'd highly recommend you go right to the source

Probably need to be a lawyer to read it.

Nope, it's pretty simple. Check it out

Wow. Its about time they wrote a law you can understand. The law still sucks though.

As for the OP it looks like your tube fed is good. Again looks like everything hinders on the detachable mag.

Guys a friend of mine asked me about this as he was concerned. He's put a thumb hole stock on his bolt action deer rifle. It's got a detachable magazine.
To help him out I tried the town next to me (NY) and asked legality,  they didn't know. The DEC didn't know, some DEC law enforcement didn't know, I than called the state police. The trooper answering the phone said you can't modify your gun. I said it's not modifying it, only replacing w another slightly dif factory stock. She was unsure so transferred me to another trooper. Supposedly the expert. He said even w a detachable magazine a thumb hole stock was legal on a bolt action rifle. That would excuse a 10-22 being it's a semi but not a bolt action. He said that was the difference.
If anyone feels this is bad info please advise so I can look into it further for him.

Bolt action detachable mag you can do anything. If you open up that safe act link above it is really easy to read and understand.

As far as I know, we just go by federal law on firearms here in S.C.

You do not have to rub it in. I live in NJ but used to live in NY. My hunting land that I own and pay taxes on is in NY. All My guns are legal in NJ and all are actually legal guns to own in NY yet I can not bring any of my hand guns to my NY place to shoot because I cross the border. Im not talking carry I cant even lock them up and bring them to my own place.

Trump is trying to get that so you can carry them in every state, sure hope he can get it to pass.

Can you consider that partial residency?

I do not believe so but have not looked into it. I do know many other guys in the same boat and I dont know anyone who tried that route.
