Hardest season ever, only tagged one bird. But, I got my little buddy Josh his first bird. My wife tagged out and killed her first Tom, a great day. And, I got my nemesis bird. The final test was yesterday, last day of the Maine season. I had 3 separate chances to shoot a jake, with my little 28, but held back. There may be hope for me yet. Great season and God Bless everyone, Al Baker

I have to agree with you on the hardest season ever, it was the same here in NY.     My idea of a successful season used to be tagging out and calling in another 5-10 that other friends would get.  Fast forward to "growing up" If I get 1 thats an awesome season, and If I only work a bird or 2 that's a successful season anymore. I love this sport no matter what success I have.

Hardest season this year for me as well.  Two of my buddies plus myself had 6 tags, only 1 tag was filled.  We ALL hunted at least 20 days of our 29 day season.  We ALL had opportunities at jakes and bearded hens but PASSED.  GREAT SEASON!!!!

Congratulations all the way around. I was supposed to take my landlords granddaughter out this year but that plan fell through. Kind of glad it did though, would have hated for this weird season to have been her first, never heard a definite gobble til the second to last day of the season and that sounded like it was at least half a mile away.

Agree it was usual season, but anytime you get to see, hear and hunt turkeys it's a good season. Don't forget those beautiful sunrises and sunsets ...

My measure of success is simply having time to go. Time is the most valuable commodity. Much more valuable than money. Thanks to Coronavirus I had tons of time to hunt this season and love every minute of it. Very thankful

There have been so many more songbirds here this year, I went out and bought a book and CD:Rom to learn a few of them. To be honest they were so loud this year it did make hearing much else difficult while hunting.

I respect everyone's restraint in holding off on the jakes.  My grandfather told me a long time ago; "Killing this year's jakes is just stealing longbeards from your own future."  It always stuck.

I had an tough season & didn't spend the first tag, but I also had an awful lot of fun trying.  I had hens & jakes almost get in my lap a few times, though no mature gobblers followed them.  Some days you're the hammer, some days you're the nail.

First day of my season out of state a buddy and I both killed good birds 20min apart absolutely covered up in willing to die turkeys, and the next 5 weeks were nothing like that first day lol. I fought, literal snow, wind, rain, piles of jakes and droves of other hunters. I gritted my way to both my PA tags late in the season, but they were a far cry from hard gobbling call them on a string dream hunts which is just fine I appreciate the lessons learned. I did call a pair of birds for my father and he got busted before getting a shot and a lone bird for my wife and that just never gave her a clear shot from her angle.
