Welp, just found out the neighbors up on the bluff behind my property are doing some kind of construction. Of course it's right where the birds have been roosting for years. I've typically set up on the edge of cedars that face the bluff that borders one side of my property and limited out every year catching the Gobblers as they fly off the roosts down to my property. Haven't been to the property since they started construction, but from the sounds capture on my surveillance cameras, I hear heavy equipment, sawing and hammering. Guess we'll see how it goes, but hoping to draw one in from the surrounding area right at first shooting light before the construction starts each morning.  It is what it is, but geez, after being stuck inside for like 5 weeks, I've been looking forward to getting into the woods for some all day hunting for so long. Timing is everything!

In any case, you never know what them birds will do and a bad day hunting is better than a good day working. Though I guess I can always knock out some chores on the property while the the crew hammers and saws away on the bluff. Gotta pull down and do PM on my tree stands, maintain the trails, plant some forage and general brush clean-up so guess it won't be a total waste. I'll keep my Mossy and vest with me just in case I hear any gobbling!

Rant over LOL.

Be well and happy hunting folks.

That really sucks,...but the good news is that the turkeys that were there are still around somewhere.  Just figure out where that is and go huntin'!

Yep, I'll be hunting them Gobblenut, one way or the other man. Can hunt until sundown up there, so I'm also gonna try setting up off one of their feeding areas and travel routes for the last 3-4 hours of the day to maybe catch them head back to their roosts. Should be quiet by then.... Will hunt them more like deer as they move through vs calling them in. I'm still pumped to get in the wild, more now than ever.

Be well
