Great call - just recently acquired a few new slates that I like more.

I actually did this on a stainless call I have and it made it to where I could purr. Before I did that it was very hard to purr. I don't know why but it worked. I got the idea to try it because I got a Hanks aluminum used from someone and it was conditioned that way and was a very easy to play anodized. I haven't tried it since the stainless.

I actually had a conversation with jimmy Schaeffer once about conditioning and he recommended the 45 and 90 degree scratch pattern for more grab

I typically click and cutt straight down and yelp more at a 45 degree so this scratch pattern works better for me

Received the call today. limb_hanger is great to deal with! To be honest, I was a bit taken back by the 45 and 90 degree conditioning on the call, but let to tell you, this call sings! The surface grabs the striker very well and allows for great control on purrs, puts, and cuts! I'm tempted to try this type of conditioning on some other pots of mine...
