Has anyone used Gaia maps? How does it compare to ONX? Thanks

DrJaJa

I use GAIA for my hunting needs.  Lots of good overlays including those from your state fish and wildlife zones which I assume are identical to what ONX is using.  I had provided some feedback to GAIA around needing better map icons, and they've added a few hunting related ones since last year.

Love gaia. Used backcountry navigator pro for years and they've started backcountry navigator xe that's like gaia and onx but still not quite there yet.  If gaia had bcn waypoint icons it would be perfect.  Use to be a little laggy but they recently fixed that with the update

Been using GAIA for several years now.  Only issue I have is the satellite imagery.  I have also provided some feedback regarding that.
This year is going to suck!!!

I use Gaia maps. Use it daily. Still got a lot to learn.

Does Gaia show landowners when you click on a parcel? Thanks for all the info.

I have it and onX and Basemap.  Gaia is a fraction of the cost on onX and has every option.   Have used Gaia while elk hunting in Colorado and Idaho. I have several Garmin hand held gps units that I do not use now due to Gaia being much better.

I have both Gaia and OnX. Much prefer Gaia. It operates a lot more smoothly on my Android and on web browser. Not as cluttered as OnX.

You can add Google Earth imagery to Gaia. Check out the following link for instructions:

You are my savior!!!  That was literally my only gripe and never got any of that information from GAIA.  Now I get to rub it in all those OnX guys faces!!! :thanks: :TooFunny:

OnX may have got in on the front end of the mapping app world..And they definitely have the marketing and sponsorship down pat..And folks just don't realize there are more reasonably priced options out there! Gaia is constantly making improvements and listening to user feedback. I'd love to see them take on some of the OnX fanboys.
